A day after rescuing the horseshoe crab, I find it overturned and broken in dry seaweed. Low tide undid me as well.

Kimiko Hahn is the author of eight previous books of poetry, including, most recently, Brain Fever (W.W. Norton, 2014). She has won an American Book Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Theodore Roethke Award, and Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Award. She lives in New York and teaches at Queens College, City University of New York.
